Often, students will give up on a book before giving it an honest chance. The difficulty I run into is when they do this multiple times in a row, simply to evade any reading engagement whatsoever. For these students, and those who truly don't like the book they are reading, I give them the option to abandon their book... but at a price. Students are allowed a certain number of abandoned book reports per quarter/semester/etc. (dependent upon my approval) by completing the following abandoned book report. As with all my worksheets, feel free to jazz it up or simplify based on the level or grade of the student.
