Listening Activity
For Non-Print Text



WAKE UP!  Listening and Viewing activities seem to translate into “teen-talk” to mean that it’s time to nap, text, or stare into space.  And why not?  If you can’t establish a purpose to your learning, how can you possibly pay attention?  This exercise is to train you how to take notes when you must participate without doing much.  To start, begin with your purpose.

Ask three questions at the end of the listening/viewing activity that were not appropriately answered, that you zoned out on, etc.

Finally, Write a reaction to what you listened to/ viewed.  This provides your understanding to the non-print text.
